The Story
BONEFROG was created by Navy SEALs to challenge, build and inspire participants to become better athletes and recognize that they can do anything they set their minds to, while enjoying the camaraderie and teamwork usually reserved for active duty Navy SEALs.

The Course
With at least 30 military-style obstacles on courses that range from 3-9 miles, the course will test everyone and leave no one unscathed. We attempt to place an obstacle about every ¼ mile, so your running ability alone will not carry the day. You must be functionally fit to succeed here. You will get muddy. You will get beat up. You will be exhausted. But you will finish. Did we mention sand? You will get to know what it means to be “wet and sandy” just like we were at BUDS. As Navy SEALs, we know what tough is – and we don’t mean Harvard.

Team or Individual
Our event will foster camaraderie, period. Form a team ahead of time or link up with others when you get here. This is a great way to challenge your friends and create lasting bonds.

Family Event

As Navy SEALs we have been forced to spend a great deal of time away from our families. As a result, whenever we can, we include the entire family in all that we do. BONEFROG offers fun and activities for all ages! Let the kids come watch you race and then let them loose on our Tadpole kids course where they can play in the mud and race on scaled down obstacles just like mom and dad.

Amazing event!

Nov 02, 2015 by Julie

I was apprehensive to do this race, thinking it was beyond my ability, but I made it and have the battle scars to prove it. The course was mostly flat but the variety of obstacles made it fun and gave me the personal challenge I was looking for in an OCR. I had done a few Tough Mudders and Rugged Maniac and I wasn't overly impressed with those. Bonefrog staff were extremely helpful and encouraging. I can't wait for the next race!

Challenging but not harder than hell

It would be safe to say that if this was held at a ski resort it would have been far more challenging(ie Spartan Super at Palmerton). Unfortunately it is held at a less than desireable venue: Englishtown raceway park. The venue is loud from all of the car racing and mainly flat except for the motorcross hills. The signage was poor and the water stations were a mess. The staff, volunteers and obstacles were great. But because of the venue it's not a must do every year. Great finisher medal and T-Shirt.

New England Bone Frog Challenge 2015

Best OCR I've done to date! I have done 4 Spartans, 2 Tough Mudders, BattleFrog and a bunch of 5k OCR's and this was hands down the hardest and most rewarding race I have ever experienced. The staff and volunteers were incredible! The course was what every other OCR should be trying to compete with and then to have SEALs hand you your medal at the finish was just the cherry on top.
I will 1000% be back next year!

My rating is purely on difficulty. The course was extremely challenging. However, agree with previous posts...water stations were a mess, cups scattered calories offered on course, 5-6 hours on water alone??? and long wait times on several obstacles where it seemed easy to fix.

Bone Frog Challenge May 16, 2015

May 17, 2015 by Eric

This was my first Bone Frog Challenge and it was at Berkshire East ski resort. I was a little disappointed in the backups for most of the obstacles. We had to wait probably 1.5hrs total throughout the full 10+ mile course. Other than the waiting for obstacles it was great. I don't think you can understand the difficulty of this race unless you do it. You are going up and down black diamond ski trails making your way up and down the mountain eventually getting to the summit more than once. The views are spectacular. Just when you think you can't possibly go back up the mountain.... more hills/climbing. It was a huge test of leg strength and the endurance of your quads and calves.... and mind. There were 50 obstacles. In my opinion the most difficult were carrying logs, tires, sand bags, or heavy ammo boxes up and down the mountain. In the end it is all worth it as you finish at the bottom of the mountain in front of a huge American Flag and cheering crowd. I would definitely do this race again, but bring a hydration pack and some calories. They had water stations and gel on the course, but the extra wait time at obstacles resulted in no food for a long time. I ate breakfast in the morning at 7am started the race at 9:30 and didn't eat lunch until around 4pm. I figured I would be off the course around 1. I hope they figure out a way to keep the lines at the obstacles to a minimum.

A great event-Straight forward and to the point OCR, plenty of challenging obstacles throughout the entire 9 mile trail course kept it tough but on point. More Please!

As a frequent participant in OCR courses, the bone frog challenge on Staten Island NY was by far one of the best courses/races I have participated in! The obstacles were legit and difficult and truly challenged you both mentally and physically. Upon completion of this race I felt fully accomplished! All my hard work and training was out to the test! The atmosphere was one of comradory and support. Everyone was willing to help out another during those really tough obstacles and a "good job" was always close by. Thank you bone frog and all this navy seals and members of the team for your hard work and great course! Looking forward to MASS!

This race was by far the best one I've ever done! It was challenging and exciting just to be part of a race and course put together by Navy Seals.. I was proud to run this race and would do it again and again!! The rain only made it a better experience, Thank you Bone Frog Challenge for a day I will never forget.

Awesome Event!

Starting off it was beyond a pleasure to honor the navy seals and compete in their designed run. I've never had this much fun in an obstacle race before. If my girlfriend wasn't there complaining about being cold I would have ran it again. Looking forward to BFC 2015!

This was the most challenging event I have ever done. We had a great time with my friends! I look forward to doing this race again!! Thank you!
