Went with somme friends in 2017, it was my first run ever. Loved it, but thought it was too hard, that i would never go back...
Started working out, running, eating better and decided to give it another try in june ... iam so going back in 2019!! :)

Mud Hero is amazing...not pretentious, and welcomes anyone and everyone, of all ages and skill ability. It's well-organized and straight-forward. Sometimes other events can be confusing on the event day, but Mud Hero is is extremely well-oiled, erm, well-mudded!! I'd recommend this event to anyone!!

Had a great time, did it alone and it was very challenging. Would bring some friends next time. Definitely up for next year!

Good Dirty Fun!

While I love to run, adding in the elements of challenging obstacles and mud just makes this an event you can't miss! The event is well-run, and I've done it three years in a row, even when it's on my birthday. Everyone is out to have fun, and the fact they have a kids event is a big hit. The obstacles are challenging, and the mud makes it good dirty fun!

Great time!

Competed in Mud run in 2017, the obstacle was amazing. I attended with 3 friends from the Sudbury region. Although, I was somewhat fit, it was very doable. I'd say its for all fitness levels. If you're considering this race, do it, it was a muddy blast .

Fun for all fitness levels!

If you are on the fence about doing this race - get off it and go! My family and I have done the Red deer race 3 years in a row, and we love it! We are a team that ranges in age from 25-50 and all fitness levels... and I mean all! I am probably the least fit (and weightiest) person at the Mud Hero event and even I can do it- if I come to an obstacle that is too challenging, I skip it- having said that I skip very few. Its an own pace challenge with great obstacles and lots and lots of mud!!!! There is something for everyone! Wicked kill climbs, swampy mud holes, A-frame climbing apparatus, and a whole lot more!!! At the end of the race you can donate your mucky runners to a great cause. In addition, there is a super fun mini course for kiddos!!!! So get out there, have fun and get muddy!

Fun, but Unsafe

Dec 14, 2018 by Megan Lynn Campbell

We have done Mud Hero races in Red Deer 2 years in a row. It's a great fun race to do with family and friends, no matter your experience or fitness level. One of the rigs came apart and caused some injury to my fiance, luckily it wasn't serious but is a concern for us for future events. We did not receive much in terms of reassurance from Mud Hero and the attendee at the obstacle did not report the incident or seem to know how to react when he came crashing to the ground. All around a good event but safety clearly isn't a priority - use at your own caution.
